The farm borders the Brandwacht river and has registered water rights of 80 000 m³/year out of the river. Water is currently being pumped from the river to two concrete water reservoirs from where it is further distributed to the houses and irrigation points.
Regenerative agricultural practices are used to cultivate around 14 hectares with different grain crops and pasture crops without the use of chemical herbicides and pesticides. The fields are currently irrigated using a Rotrix travelling irrigation system on wheels. Polycultures (growing multiple crops together) and diverse crop rotations are used to break pest cycles and improve soil health. This in combination offers long-term sustainability while improving the health of the land and producing healthier crops.
Around 150 macadamia nut trees are also established on the property, with irrigation installed.
